Getting around Athens

From the Athens Airport to the city center

Metro Line 3 (the blue line) connects the Athens Airport with the city center. Trains run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week from 06:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. The ride from the Athens Airport to Syntagma station (Athens center) takes about 40 minutes and the ticket costs €10. You can buy tickets using the Automatic Ticket Issuing Machines (ATIMs) and from Ticket Offices in all Metro stations.

By the Athens Airport Bus

Bus X95 “AEROLIMENAS ATHINON - SYNTAGMA”, connects the airport to Syntagma Square, round the clock. The bus-ride from the airport to Syntagma Square takes about an hour and the ticket costs €6.

By taxi

Taxis are also available at the airport round the clock. There is a fixed rate for the ride from the airport to the city center (€38 from 05:00 a.m. through 24.00 a.m., €50 from 24.00 a.m. through 05:00 a.m.) The same fixed fares also apply when you pick a taxi from the center of Athens to go to the airport. The rate includes all charges (i.e. tolls, taxes, luggage, etc.)

From the Athens Airport to the conference venue

To get to the conference venue straight from the airport you can take Metro line 3 (the blue line) and exit at the Metro station “PANORMOU” (see map below). From there, the conference venue is a short ride by taxi (about 10 minutes, at a cost of about €6).

Taking the same Metro line (line 3, the blue line) you can also exit at the Metro station “SYNTAGMA”, where conference shuttle busses will be available on Friday from 10:30 through 11:30, on Saturday at 08:45 and on Sunday at 08:15, to take participants to the conference venue.
The conference buses at the Metro station “SYNTAGMA” will be departing from Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, just south of the Parliament building (click here for a map).

From the city center to the conference venue

By Conference Shuttle Bus

Conference shuttle buses will be available near the Metro station “SYNTAGMA” (Metro Line 3, the blue line) and near Hilton Hotel on Friday from 10:30 through 11:30, on Saturday at 08:45 and on Sunday at 08:15, to take participants to the conference venue.
The conference buses at the Metro station “SYNTAGMA” will be departing from Vasilissis Amalias Avenue, just south of the Parliament building (click here for a map).
The conference busses at Hilton Hotel will be departing from 46 Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, in front of the main entrance of Hilton Hotel (click here for a map).

By taxi

The conference venue is a short ride by taxi from the city center (about 20 minutes from Syntagma Square, at a cost of about €10). Alternatively, you can get a taxi from the Metro station “PANORMOU”. From there, the conference venue is a short ride by taxi (about 10 minutes, at a cost of about €6).

By public transport

You can also use public transport to reach the conference venue.
